LinePDF vs Conga Composer
Credit first: Conga is a revenue-lifecycle platform, with CLM, e-signature, and CPQ around the doc-gen core. If you’re buying that whole platform, Composer comes with it. This page is for the org that just needs invoices and quotes out the door, and is deciding whether that requires a platform contract, a Word-template toolchain, and a developer.
What reviewers keep saying, verbatim.
Both quotes are dated, attributed G2 reviews; the links go to the review pages, not our summary of them.
“often requires SOQL queries and developer-level skills”
“well over 3 weeks”
On price: Conga doesn’t publish Composer pricing, and reviewers and buying guides consistently describe annual contracts in the five figures. LinePDF is $0 to start and $49/mo flat per org after that, on the pricing page.
Side by side
| LinePDF | Conga Composer | |
|---|---|---|
| Where rendering runs | In your org, in-transaction, as the requesting user | External Conga servers; data leaves the org to render |
| Template format | Readable text in your org; admins and agents can edit it | Word/Excel/PPT binaries built with their toolchain |
| Setup skills | Point-and-map, all clicks | Reviewers report SOQL and developer-level skills |
| Line-item math | Per-line tax and discount computed by the engine, totals cross-foot | Merge-field driven; document math mirrors whatever the template author wired |
| Pricing | $0 free tier, $49/mo flat per org, published | Not published; five-figure annual contracts reported |
| Scope | One product: documents that get paid | A platform: CLM, CPQ, e-sign, analytics, and the contract that comes with it |

When Conga is the right call
You’re standardizing contract lifecycle management, negotiation redlining, and e-signature across a large revenue org, with the budget and admin staffing that implies. That’s a real platform decision and Composer rides along with it. LinePDF doesn’t do CLM. It does line-item documents, natively, at a price a 10-person org can expense.
Invoices out the door without the platform contract.
Install free, point it at your invoice object, render. If your documents need a CLM platform, you'll know by lunch.
Free tier: unlimited documents, 3 templates, full line-item engine. No card, no minimums, no sales call. AppExchange listing in security review.
